Tonight I was at Splash Bar to watch Ida Corr (dance/soul diva from Denmark) perform some of her bangin tunes! She was off the chain and everyone in the crowd loved her!! I wish I had taken some video or some good pictures…well, to make up for it, here’s the video for her hit song “Let Me Think About It”…
She can really sing live, about which I was stoked. She just got up there all by herself, no entourage, no dancers, no nothin. Just Ida, a microphone, and a backing track! Her booty looked really good too.
Anyway, I did some shaking of hands and passing out of business cards while I was there, so maybe someday in the future I’ll be able to take the stage at Splash! Fingers crossed; it’s a great venue and the crowd is great as well.
Some newfound obsessions:
1) Gay clubs. Splash is the first one I’ve been to! I have been to gay bars, but gay clubs are even better…or at least this one was! I was a little pooped (Ida didn’t go on until like 1:45am), and since I’m on antibiotics I couldn’t drink, but I still had a really good time…next time I’m there I will definitely dance longer and harder!
2) Go-go boys…Shane Mercado of “Single Ladies” YouTube fame was one of the go-go boys at Splash. He really is a talented dancer. Did you know Beyonce actually called him and said she loved his video?!? Anyway, they were all amazing and have sick bodies.
3) Dance remixes. There are some songs out right now that I really hate, but when remixed for dance purposes by the right DJ, they take on a whole ‘nother life. A particularly noteworthy remix was the one they played of Britney Spears’s “Circus.”
That’s all for now! I can’t believe I’m up this late blogging.
